As Trigeminal Neuralgia is often considered a condition that affects older people, some of the issues that young facial pain patients face on a daily basis can differ from those of older patients. Founded in 2011, the Young Patients Committee (YPC) strives to give a voice to the needs of young patients and raise awareness by dispelling the myth that TN does not affect young people.

On this website, the YPC offers suggestions for parents, children, significant others, and many more about how to cope with facial pain and the various ways it impacts the lives of young people. (Though we hope our tips and testimonies resonate with anyone who is interested).  We share our experiences as TN patients who have navigated high school and college, dating and relationships, maintaining a social life, traveling, pregnancy, motherhood, and many more.  We also feature a section written by our loved ones on how they have supported us through our struggles with TN.

Through our Facebook page, the YPC shares articles of interest to young patients and provides a forum for support.  The YPC participates in the FPA conferences with forums designed specifically for young people. YPC publishes an article in each edition of the TNA Quarterly.  Through its fundraising initiatives on Zazzle and CafePress, the YPC raises funds with TN-related merchandise that helps raise awareness.
